Besides the district's Technology Policy that is signed at the start of the school year, students in PLTW have some additional expectations:
- Devices that are not in use should be closed/put away during class. Any device being used without permission may be confiscated for the remainder of class.
- Texts, Snaps, Tweets, IG, and any other share you are considering can wait. Occasionally, I give an option to share something. Only then may you do so during class and only for exactly what the instructions describe.
- Cameras are not allowed without permission. Permission is usually given to take pictures of your work, not your friends.
- You may not photograph or film anyone without their permission. Do not assume you have permission. Ask first.
- You are allowed to listen to music when you are working alone on classwork. You MAY NOT listen to music during group work, lessons, or quizzes and tests.
- Classroom devices are to be treated with respect. Damage to classroom equipment will be reported, along with a phone call home.
- Make sure you read the school's electronics and cell phone policy (page 3) and be aware of the SJSD Tech Policies. Whether you are using a district device or one of your own, while you are in school these policies are to be followed.
